ABOUT STEVE BEST

(Filmmaker, Professional Storyteller, Creative, Idea Guy, and Football Enthusiast, who’s mastered the art of blending history with the unexpected)

Steve Best is a Scottish-born filmmaker with deep roots in Canada and the US, known for a storytelling style that’s as fearless as it is funny. His career has taken him to some wild places—literally. From hanging out of helicopters to capture the perfect shot, to cautiously facing off with a thirteen-foot-high wild elephant in Africa (because, as he learned, they don’t exactly take direction), Steve’s commitment to getting the story knows no bounds. After stints with anti-poaching teams and conservationists, blending global adventure with a mission to make people think—and maybe laugh along the way.

His latest venture? A documentary series he’s developed along side with Executive Producer's Chris Pratt and Pete Roberts that tackles the history of culture, greed, and humanity’s many questionable choices. With years of research, development, and enough airtime (in planes) and camera setups to start his own tripod and travel business, Steve has honed his knack for capturing creative stories that challenge perspectives and make you wonder if the truth is stranger than fiction.

Back in the UK now, Steve splits his time between creating, writing, filming, and preparing his son for Academy-level football (with a Scottish dad’s level of excitement), while looking for roles that let him combine his passion for sports, human interests and storytelling.

When he's not behind the lens, you'll find him debating the superiority of Italian espresso, cheering on young footballers, or working on his side project of convincing SpaceX he’d be perfect for the next seat on Starship... because, let's face it, space could use a bit more Scottish charm.
